This newbie OP is a typical newbie OP.
    They ask questions.
They don't bother to read our responses.
Even if they read, they don't show any appreciation.

My block list consists of many such newbie OPs

If you actually want to get to the bottom of it, why not go to IB via this route which will provide trackable response?

    They will not bite you.

The Features Poll may provide addtl avenue for your quest.

Because my last interaction with IB customer service took 2 months to resolve even after escalation via phone calls. They basically don't care. The only reason I'm still with them is I have my code plugged into their datafeeds and I can't be bothered to change at the moment.

Why revert to phone calls which evaporate into thin air the second you hang up?
Did the Message Center fail you? Why? How?

    The feature wouldn't bite us.
But it could shorten one's life.

Over the past 2 decades, I rarely contact any Customer services / Help desks
unless it is a life-and-death situation.

You got a problem with that, fine, not me.

Couple times a year it comes in handy.

The procedure for posting non-urgent text questions to IB then checking back a day later offers a method for them to get that question to the particular person who has the best background for answering that particular question with the least amount of wasted motion.
Same as most people handle routine email when working for 'the man', once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Smooth.

People don't want to use the servece? Good, leaves more time for them to take care of biz. lol.

  8. To all those who have experience with IB,

Can I ask about getting new products added? How is that process? Are they open to the idea? I would like some exchange traded spreads added. eg. They have CBOT 5yr and CBOT 10yr, but I would like to trade the "ICS" exchange traded spread between them. It's already listed on CME(CBOT) and so I don't see it as an unusual product.

Same with calendar spreads on some of the common bond futures on other exchanges, I see a few calendar spreads are missing.

    Thank you.

The process is pretty simple. Raise it via a ticket or in this case I'll ask our products team. We typically like to see liquidity and certain volumes traded before adding future products. Could you provide a specific ticker for me? I do recall we had someone asking to add an ICS and it turned out to be multi-currency which we didn't support.

  10. Hi there,

Thanks for this. I'm conducting DD on brokers at the moment and don't have an account open yet, so no access to customer service.

But for an example, I am interested CME listed T-Bond vs. Ultra 30yr (BOB) spread.

    https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/interest-rates/intercommodity-spread.html#2

They provide guaranteed execution in a fixed contract ratio of 2:1. To be fair, they don't trade big volume compared to the underlying contract, and so I'd understand if you don't want to clog up your price feed with these things.

If you let me know if this one would be possible, and a usual time line for getting them added, it will give me a good guide as to whether I can proceed with IB as my broker.

I am going to send a private message to do with some other contracts I'm more interested in also.

    Appreciated.
