IB Pit traded fills

Discussion in 'Financial Futures' started by fortunatti, May 10, 2006.

  1. Anybody using IB to trade the pit contracts, specifically CBOT grains?

I'm wondering about fill quality and execution/fill reporting times.

    Any comments welcome...

    Cheers

  2. hi. i know you asked for grains, but i have used them for cattle and hogs. the fills have been better than i hoped. i never have traded with pit contracts before so i thought i would get screwed(so i have read),but its been pretty good.reporting back is usually good but sometimes knowing if a trade has been confirmed cancelled or not can be interesting. but that is rare. and it also was an Oct contract.
i wish i knew more about how the process works for Ib and pits.

  3. Have you tried any grain trades since you posted this 2 months ago? How were your experiences?

IB lists floor corn as supported, but then lists the electronic contract (ZC) as the symbol.

Not sure if you are aware of it, but, as I recall, the CBOT is going to be listing its grains electronically starting in August. It will have "side-by-side" trading going: pit and electronic. I'm sure the CBOT website has more information.
