I have now spent 2.5 hours on with Roadrunner tech support and they see they are blocking IB, but they don't know why. #$%#$%@#$@!!!!!! Maybe I am just old, but I am longing for the days no tech.
hey man, we have all been there. At times it makes you wonder if you are just crazy or the whole world is crazy. You really have to hand it to amazon.com, somehow they figured out how to make it simple but I agree, it shouldn't be this hard
Good deal, Tac! IB gets a lot of bad press here. But, if one will exercise a little patience and a bit of politeness, IB will help you out in this game. Now, if I could only help you with Roadrunner...
is that their new slogan? "The only broker you will ever need if you are polite." We all started out polite How about, "The only broker who won't make polite traders vulgar."
Perhaps you don't subscribe to being businesslike and polite when contacting people who can help you, but I do. You should try it. It can really enhance your position.
yes, that's why whenever I need to contact IB I brush my teeth and put on my best suit to enhance my position. It's important to remember ones station in life. After all there are millions of customers and I am just one. If you want to make it in this world, you need to learn how to be a good customer. A polite and businesslike disposition can go very far. Keep that up and you can pretty much be a customer of anyone you like (if you have the money.)
you can't imagine my joy when I told my family that I had been accepted as a customer to IB. We had a celebration party. And I'm quite sure it was due to the polite and businesslike way I filled out the online application.
and at times they were quite rude to me, like when I hit enter and they immediately replied in bold red letters that my email information did not match. There was no "Thank you oldltime for opening an account, we are sure you are trying, but unfortunately you typed your email address in twice (and we just make you do this to be sure your information is correct) and apparently the two addresses did not match. We appreciate your business and we know your time is valuable, but if it's not too much trouble could you please re enter the information? Sorry for the inconvience, and we do look forward to serving you. Sincerely, your friends at IB."
Dear BSAM, Thank you telling me what I should try. Might I also suggest that when you are done telling people what to do and how to live their life you should stick your head back up your ass where it belongs. I'm sure it would be a benefit to all and your position would be greatly enhanced. regards oldtime
