WELL IB. I WANT A FUCKING ANSWER. JUST HAPPENED AGAIN. I HIT THE BID. IT DOESN'T FILL AND THEN I GET A REQUOTE. CAN YOU EXPLAIN WTF IS GOING ON HERE? THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT AND I WANT AN ANSWER.
IB I'M NOT GOING TO LET THIS GO. I WILL KEEP POSTING UNTIL I GET AN ANSWER. YOU EITHER HAVE CROOKS WORKING THE IDEAL PRO FX OR THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR SYSTEMS. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN 10 TIMES IN ONE NIGHT. THE MOMENT I HIT THE BID IT SHOULD FILL. I SHOULD NOT BE GETTING A NEW (LOWER) REQOUTE. THIS IS ALMOST FUCKING CRIMINAL.
Ozzy, The best thing to do is contact the help desk who can look into it. I just walked over there and asked them if they rec'd any calls or chats on IDEALPRO executions today and they said no. Thus if there is an issue, no one is looking into it. Neither Steve nor I are customer service nor can you expect us to see every post on this site on a timely basis. I thus urge you to contact the CS desk so they can obtain further details and escalate to our operations desk as needed.
The helpdesk maybe a good place to start. The helpdesk hadn't received any calls regarding IDEAL-Pro as of an hour or so a go. So you may want to try there. http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/general/contact/contact.php?ib_entity=llc http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/general/contact/bestService.php?ib_entity=llc
Thanks for the response. I'll call tomorrow. I can record the event if you like. The moment I hit the bid I get a lower requote (basically their pulling the bid). IMO this is a very serious issue and it questions the integrity of the system. Also I'm really suprised that this has not happened to other people tonight. Sorry for the caps and the swearing, but I was really upset after it kept happening over and over. ozzy P.S for the record I like IB, just extremely frustrated with Ideal Pro and what I saw today. Also I'm not sure that talking to customer service is going to change anything. I'll just use Globex in the future. Thanks.
Steve's travelling and it looks like we crossed comments. Ozzy, the CS might not be able to help you instantly but they can inform the appropriate people within our firm who can. Our aim is to make IDEALPRO the best FX solution in the market place and if your observations are correct, we will proactively seek a solution. It is true that no one else has contacted CS with a similar issue tonight. Perhaps it's related to the 1/2 pip spread. In any event, if you still have the same problems tomorrow, please provide the details to our CS desk so we can get to the bottom of the issue.
OZ, Make sure you are using the latest version of IB. Pull up a booktrader and make sure you see the halfs quoted. There is a difference now that they are quoted in halfs. I did not have any fill problems last night. I did see some odd things with IB's market makers flying in at odd places. The quotes would widen out and all of sudden a market maker would pop in out of no where and tighten things up and then dissapear again. IB there may be some glitch with the market makers quotes showing through. Something did not seem right from time to time.
Interesting, IB goes to half pips and it is wider. I used to consistently see the market for EUR/USD one pip wide. Now that they are quoting half pips. It is one and half wide to two pips.! It seems worse now. Not what one would expect. Ib are you guys getting ready to add any more liquidity providers? Is there a reason these quotes are wider all of sudden? Maybe it is just me. Granted with the half pips it appears to move faster and has allowed fills inbetween. But something seems different. Everyone trading IB ideal pro ---sound off.
I'm looking at the TWS screen right before NY open. EUR/USD is mostly 1 pip wide with the occasional .5 pip and more rare 1.5 pip. Seems pretty reasonable to me. The spread will sometimes widen out to two pips during times of very low volume but this happened before the change as well.
