    -P&L is coming...
At the moment, I use an excel spreadsheet and the API. (See attached file, it will need some tweaking to work on another account).

    Dear Steve

In June you announced P&L to come. Now we are in December and in spite of many updates IB made in the meantime, there is still no P&L for IDEALPRO. Are you still planning to make it, and when, or do we have to forget the idea that some day it will be made? Same question regarding the open "positions" for IDEALPRO in the TWS.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    @ Mumbai:

You might take a look at ButtonTrader (connected to TWS). that will give you all the things you need for FX-trading at IB. It has very special features (synthetic FX-positions) to overcome the TWS problem: it will give realtime P&L and full position management.

    Hope it helps

It hasn't been forgotten, but I can't promise a date - hopefully early next year. In the last few months, other items have had a higher priority due to demand/programming time etc. As you have observed we've launched quite a few new products and made a large number of improvements to the TWS since June. (release notes here:
http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/software/releaseNotes/Notes_Index.php). For IDEAL-Pro traders we have boosted our charting capabilities and also added market makers which has tightened spreads.

In the meantime for the P&L and splitting out the seperate currency pairs you would need to set this up via the API, or use the solution offered by the previous poster.

  6. If some active independent IDEAL Pro traders could post, what are the consistent spreads currently available?

From the demo, I see the following:

    EURUSD: 1-2 pips
    GBPUSD: 3-5 pips
    USDJPY: 1-3 pips
    EURJPY: 1-3 pips
    USDCHF: 2-4 pips
    .... + Commission

This is commensurate with what I experienced previously. However, it looks like GBPUSD has widened.

As I made note of before, I had difficulties with some market orders of relatively small size getting promptly filled. This was during the summer of '05. Any comments about current problems with that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance.

Don't follow EUR/JPY but the others look about right. Twice recently I had a stop in place that did not execute even though the bid/ask went several ticks through the stop price. I had to cancel the stop and execute manually. Glad I was there watching it. Also I've noticed on the latest versions of TWS that the exit side of all bracket/OCO orders is apparently NOT sent until there is a bid/ask to hit. In other words if/when my order becomes the best inside market nobody can see it. The status of these orders is blue instead of green. This is happening on all orders not just IdealPro.

    Hoi,
Does buttontradeter address the first problem mentioned above......a set stop not being triggered by TWS?
    If so, how?
    Thanks
