When Def gets back from vacation he will have some answers in regards to the forex programming. He was going to check with the programmers to see about the progress on this. I know they are working on it.

As far as TWS being easy to change the programming for Ideal Pro to track profits and losses etc. I don't know. But it seems that if it was so easy for them to do. It would have been done already. Everything they say they are going to do ----they seem to get it done pronto. Just my observation.

they already had the P/L shown in the accounts right? can't they just script in a seperate window/box to show that figure taken from the accounts?

but TGM is correct...if it was this easy they would probably have done it already, hehe.

overall IBs reporting can improve. They don't have a live transaction history on TWS, just a list of open trades, so if you have question about a trade you would need to wait unit the next statement comes out which can be 1-2 days before you know what they think you have done

I think what he might talking about is the ability to track individual trades. For instance, if I buy 50k of Eur/Usd and then the next day buy 25k Eur/Usd. It would be nice to track the profits and losses and exposure of Each of these transactions. Like Oanda and everybody does (all other brokers treat them like individual futures trades---Oanda has about the easiest to track). Steve, this is your only weakness. I have to track mine elsewhere. I know you guys are working on this. Any idea when the solution will be out?? It would be great to look at individual forex trades under my portfolio window. Sorry Steve traders nowadays are lazy. :)

Funny...is it really that hard to program an additional column that shows the result of initial value +- current value for each trade??

Actually, I was talking about complete transaction log with time-stamp, so if some positions show up in your account when you were not connected, and you have no idea where they came from there will be references

1, 2 should give you execution times
3 should give you everything - time sent, received, executed etc

  10. Steve,

One early morning when attempting to figure out my trades and positions I noticed that at about midnight the previous day's executions drop off - I had to "export previous day's reports" to see what had happened as the nightly report wasn't created yet on the website, and the cutoff on the nightly report seems to be about 5:00 PM Eastern time anyway (EUR/USD IdealPro and EUR futures), so I couldn't see the 6PM-midnight trades in the nightly report until the next day's report anyway. It would be good to have the trades stay around a bit longer in the execution log, or be able to have more than 1 day's worth of trades in the executions log.

The problem was compounded because it was a trade on IdealPro where the # of units my trade entry software had recorded, did not match up with the # of units in the account window. And because position information is not listed for forex I had a hard time figuring out which entry had actually gotten filled (my actual price basis) and which entry had not been filled.
