Trading is only closed on IB for these products, not on the exchange. LIFFE has extended its hours this week and so EURIBOR now closes at 9pm London time -seems madness and wrong that IB does not allow trading on a product for a considerable period of time that the market is open.
Any of the IB people care to answer the question re EURIBOR as I am afraid your rep above gave a factually incorrect answer.
I would really like to see the IdealPro positions listed in the position column on the Trader Workstation so I can see where my net position stands without needing to go into the Account window.
Euribor trading hours will be changed. Thank you for the correction. Short Sterling still closes at 18:00.
Ok, I've had a demo account on pretty much every Forex retailer in the market, but never have I been unable to find out how to demo a platform at all. Is there some secret passage that one has to find, in order to Forex-demo these guys?
The simplest way is to download TWS and login as edemo/demouser. You can also go to http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/software/demo.php Put currency name in the left column and chose "cash" from the menu.
Agreed 100000000000%. Its not that hard to script up that function. It'll probably take only 1-2 days of programming.
While I agree it would be very very nice to have this functionality. You have absolutely no idea at all what is required to make the modification or all the ramifications they have to consider before testing and releasing any changes. How do you know how hard it is for them to code this? Do you have a copy of the TWS code? Do you know to what extent the code is coupled? The only people that can give any estimate on programming effort required is of course the TWS programmers. MK
