IB new forex spreads

  1. Ahh ok - thanks for the extremely prompt reply. I had thought that the C meant that it was closed and you couldn't trade. Great to have that cleared up! :D

Out of curiousity then, why does eur/usd not have a 'C' but all the others do?

I some cases it will print a 'last price'.

Maybe only if the trade was between 2 IB customers
and not if the trade was against a market maker (?).

  4. Anyone seeing a technical problem in EURUSD, GBPUSD, EURGPB?

Unable to send orders. I have logged out and in and even upgraded the desktop TWS and logged back in and still seeing the market quotes off from the market and off from what there trading desk is seeing...

  5. Yes. And other majors and crosses. They're still working to resolve the issue.

  6. The problem has been resolved within the last half hour, looking at my TWS.

I certainly hope that, looking back a year from now, this will have been an isolated, extremely rare incident with the otherwise very promising IDEAL Pro forex platform.

It has been a while since i checked ET forums, what are the spreads like for EUR? Tight 1 or fluctuate between 1-2?

I posted this screenshot on the other thread.

Euro during Asian hours is usually 1 pip, sometimes 2. Yen also seems to be mostly 1 pip.

  9. will the USD/CAD ever be tightened to 3pips? it seems strange the AUD/USD can remain at 2 or 3 pips wide and the CAD is always like 6 - 8 pips wide?

  10. Basic Position Management - P&L

There is no real-time P&L for spot currency positions in TWS.

When is this going to be available? And if I were asking this question 15 years ago I would not believe it...
