I'd like to trade and get the End of Day, Market at Close price. I notice IB offers this choice with the MOC order. Does any one have experience with these, do they work totally reliably? I ask because sometimes, with the best efforts with simulated orders from IB the orders are totally reliable (eg combination orders) or get a reduced priority and after the close of market, it's a bit late to try and get in if the order is not filled for some reason.
My experience with MOC orders and IB has not been good. In a few instances, I've been filled at terrible prices a minute or two after the close when the spread widens considerably.
I do MOC and LOC orders regularly for NYSE and NASDAQ stocks through IB. I've always received the closing cross price.
I submit moc orders for nyse listed stocks daily at IB. I always get the official nyse closing price.
the only reason I know of to do MOC orders is when there is an imbalance.......nobody has mentioned that yet
When does a MOC orders have to be submited?? still 20 minutes before 4pm? is this for both NYSE and Nasdaq?? still looking for an answer
