Jayra, You are wrong. Is that clear enough. Btw, you call a bid a distressed price and an offer a distressed price. I call that a market. If for example, an ES future position is being liquidated, then the order s sent to globex. Whomever is on the bid, gets the fill. That could be you as well. If you have a magical way of then selling that on the offer risk free to make the spread, l'd love to be in on that secret juice.
IB CEO wants the auto-trade markets to slow down a little: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB100...641293119362426.html?mod=WSJ_Tech_LEFTTopNews At what speed does IB's auto-liquidation program execute trades?
Jayre: You seem to have a problem. You doubt what you are told here in the anonymity of ET, but you persist in asking for answers here. Pick up your phone and call Infinity. Ask them how it works. To aid you, here is an extract of an email sent to new customers. You have been enabled to trade ES, TF, NQ, YM, CL, GC, and SI with a lot size limit of XX per contract. Your daily risk assessment level is currently set to $XX,XXX. This is your current predetermined risk assessment level for your account. This amount has and will change as risk levels change. The System's automatic feature monitors all positions in the account and may liquidate based on the above level being reached. Substantial losses may result. There is no certainty that the System will actually liquidate when the predetermined daily risk assessment level is reached; there is no certainty that the System may not commence liquidation even if the predetermined daily risk assessment level has not been reached (for example, if the System receives bad data quote). Per your Customer Agreement you have already acknowledged and confirmed your understanding that the automatic liquidation feature may be imperfect. Jack
Not to mention he was really cagey about what happend to him. He refused to explain what he was trading even in broad strokes. He wastes everyones time by requiring them to speculate what his postion actually was and it's size relative to his account. He keeps banging on without any details still. How can anyone take him seriously other than to assume he has an agenda such as working for a competitor of IB. FWIW I don't use IB and don't work for then.
To DEF, so are you and IDS both employed as spokespersons for IB? Are there any other members besides yourselves who identify themselves and post openly as IB employees? And for the sake of curiosity, do IB employees share these multiple identities or are you all separate, individual spokespeople for the company?
Def, can you please answer the question... Would you go on the recard stating the Timbar Hill has not been PROFITING from buying options/futures from IB accounts that got liquidated on the bid price or distrased price (however you want to call it) and then selling it back in the marketplace? Its a simple question yes or no
I am in senior management in Asia. I am not employed as a spokesperson. No spokespeople post here. Employees posting should identify themselves as such and identities are not shared.
Def, can you please answer the question... I have asked already the following question already 3 times for some reason it seems that you have a problem admitting that Timbar Hill does indded profit when clients are "forced" to sell at distressed prices (especially when it relates to option in a volatile market, if someone is forced to sell at the bid price the market maker has a HUGE advantage, & since Timbar Hill gets a prefrance acording to IB contract, its pretty clear they are profiting). So let me repeat the question again.. Would you go on the recard stating the Timbar Hill has not been PROFITING from buying options/futures from IB accounts that got liquidated on the bid price or distrased price (however you want to call it) and then selling it back in the marketplace? Its a simple question yes or no
I apologize to Jayre for getting off-topic on the employee questions. Jayre, you have a good question. What about Timber Hill picking up the opposite side of trades during force liquidations? Does Timber Hill ever do this?
