FWIW, if you look at most agreements for any financial data service, brokerage, etc., etc. that communicates or transacts anything electronically related to investments and trading, you will find similar legal armor. Also, one thing to consider, in many negotiations and contracts, each side will have legal counsel that structures and reviews. In the case of a broker, a customer may have legal counsel review the customer agreement and come back with points and sections that they will not agree to or even additions. It is then up to the broker to decide if these adjustments are acceptable. This highly valuable legal protection is what most small customers simply can not afford. One possibility would be for a several players to coordinate joint legal counsel.
If IB can not be complained or sued then where did these cases come from? NFA Arbitration CFTC Reparations Cases
WOW, that is really outrageous, I am sorry to all the others saying this is common, I never saw it before.
Proxil1. Do you really think web board users are unable to see through someone making their 5th ever post aggressively attacking another broker?.
Actually I was not attacking anyone but just got amazed by what I saw. I hope you are not attacking me neither because I am new here. There are others here with low number of posts, not just me.
proxi1, those clauses are standard in most brokerage agreements. the fact is that IB has been in business many years and we have an excellent reputation and regulatory record.
Fair enough, I am not even intending to continue discussing this topic, but mokwit just attacked me for no reason.
def, care to give any explanations, or comments (nothing identifying - u can just give some "general comments" if u wish) about the cases mentioned in http://www.nfa.futures.org/basicnet/Details.aspx?entityid=0258600&rn=Y ?
hi phoenix555, to be honest with you i don't care about explanation explaining the complaints. There are 2 sides to this thread one form Eagle Eye and the other from mixture of members. I think each person should do their own search and decide for themselves who they want to join. But I would like to hear from mokwit explaining what he meant by saying that I have only few posts etc?
not me - i think getting some perspective from IB would be good. I would certainly be interested in knowing some savvy details about the case(s). to be honest with u, i dont really care about this at all. Pls do ur quarrel with mokwit in a separate thread. Or just go 'private message' him. Once u have worked out a resolution, u can then come back, and report back to us.
