IB & Intl Petroleum Exchange (IPE)

Discussion in 'Interactive Brokers' started by MichaelJ, Jan 18, 2005.

  1. Wondering if someone from IB can answer this... the IPE now trades their petroleum products (eg Brent Crude Oil) during business hours electronically. Volume is picking up in their electronic version versus open-outcry though it is still the minority.

Does IB have plans to carry this product?

Yes. We will be adding it to the offering. I don't have the date.

Do market data already work ?

Although commission and product information is on our website, we haven't yet launched it. It will be ready any day now, and we will send a communique when its available.

You can sign up for the exchange in the market data section. The good news is that there is no exchange fee. Doesn't seem to be available yet though.

There's no exchange fee for the IPE market data. You can sign up now, but there is no data coming through yet. Everything is set-up in our system, but we are still finishing off some last minute paperwork with the exchange, which has unfortunately delayed the release.

Any plans on offering the option products on the IPE?

Yes, I would think so, once the futures were up and running smoothly. (We have to be extra careful with physcially delivered products).
