I see that some others have posted suggestions about dealing with the ToolBar in TWS. I, too, think it is more of a distraction than a help. I suggest putting an option in the View menu (or the Settings menu) to "Disable Tool Bar". Perhaps you could also add some code so that, if ToolBar is disabled, and IB sends an Alert or other message, an "Alert" indicator would flash in the Menu bar next to Help. Has anything changed since then? I already got an "official" response from customer service, but may be there is some workaround??? I was planning to use IB partially from work, but I can't - I work for a large software company with very strict security procedures, they WILL NOT open up the ports needed for IB.
