the relative orders should work as advertised for US stocks. For European stocks they should be implemented shortly. As for the hotkey/order box. I passed the info along. hopefully this will be a moot point as more hot keys are added.
here's my feedback: We will fix this, but in the meantime, they can open the order panel by pressing Alt-O, and then "i". hope this helps.
Just a brief "thanks" to the development team at IB and def. The new release is again a nice enhancement. I really like to alternating color lines (something I proposed months ago to the developers). Really makes it easy to navigate my large pages. The layout managers is also a major plus. Thanks again !
I really like the new column that shows your position size. I often have many positions open at once and it really helps to show the stock amounts.
def, When will the multi-currency futures account be rolled out? and when will the JTWS be ready to trade options on futures? Is it possible to implement a special account type to accomodate futures, options on futures, and INDEX OPTIONS (OEX, SPX, DJX, NDX, MNX, and QQQ) in a single (multi-currency) account? Maybe with some limitations such as cash settlement only with no physical delivery or even exercise allowed for the index & ETF's options taking account of technical simplicity. This request due to the illiquidity of options on US index futures. I know there's regulatory (CFTC/SEC) considerations. BUT IS IT POSSIBLE?
Nice improvements in IB workstation. I would like to see the P&L separated into open P&L and closed P&L Also would like to see hot keys for setting up stop limit orders and the ability to change limit prices using hotkeys without having to open order ticket.
First I'd like to say that IB is a great service and I have hardly any complaints. But, they could improve in two areas: 1) Show the shares available to short in one of the columns. This way you don't place unnecessary orders or have to login to the websites short list. Cyber does this or at least used to. 2) Have more access to borrowed stock. In this market it's more important than ever. Everything else keeps getting better.
It would be nice to have a page manager that lets you use more than one set of pages, one at a time. I am using a multicurrency account to trade stocks in two different markets, US and Germany, and since I don't really need the German pages when I trade US stocks, and vice versa, it would be a nice idea if you could load and save different sets of pages. Right now, there is one file, jts.pg, that holds the page info. I am keeping two different files, jtsu.pg and jtsg.pg, and whenever I want to trade US stocks, I rename jtsu.pg to jts.pg and run the TWS. This is a little cumbersome, but it's still better than keeping a bloated list of pages and symbols when I can't really use them.
multicurrency on futures - I believe just a few weeks away. The holdup was for a couple regulatory issues and the full rollout of span margining worldwide. I'll have to double check but the rollout of Span should also facillitate the move to TWS4.0 for all accounts (options and futures). dawnrazor: why not just name and load two or more seperate pages for the data that you desire? hotkeys for stops: should be coming soon pnl stuff: i'll add to the list of suggestions which I forward to the programmers
Another suggestion. This serious outage this morning suggests that it would be good for TWS to indicate in some very obvious way if I has lost it's connection to the server. I have multiple monitors, and I actually first noticed the disconnect when I saw the little logon window pop up every 5 seconds or so (on a different monitor than TWS). How about changing the top of the screen to (blinking) red when the software disconnects. I track multiple positions, often on a longer time frame, and don't watch the TWS more than once every 15 minutes. I would be good with a strong visual cue that something serious is wrong.
