Discussion in 'Forex Brokers' started by travelingtrader, Jun 1, 2005.

  1. You already got the answer. Here again the Marketmaker from IB FX:

    Exchange: Bear Stearns Currency Dealing
    Exchange: IB Currency Dealing
    Exchange: Interactive Brokers Dealing System
    Exchange: JPMorgan Chase Currency Dealing
    Exchange: THI reuters
    Exchange: UBS FX

  2. Can anyone provide a list of all the crosses or exotics currencies available on IB. Their website only lists the majors.

    Thanks.

  4. Anyone notice a change in liquidity as of 0100 EST on Friday, June 10th?

    There is either
    1. New liquidity provider
    2. Currency arb participant on IB
    3. System problem

    Most likely 1. or 2.

Interesting - odd lot/not round number sizing may provide some clues...

Bids/Offers in hundreds of millions of USD or Euros - Never driven EBS or Reuters FX systems, etc. What is the typical depth on those?

Yes, definitely some unusual bid/ask action happening. Huge size bid and asks on eur/jpy.

Do you know why some currency pairs use the comma as a thousand seperator and some others don't?

  7. I am on IB chat right now inquiring about the fat size, I mean close to a bill bid/offers? That is HUGE.

I think the fat bid/offers get no commas because they are so fat. 923,710,016 Euros bid/offer in EURJPY that is approximately $85,000 a pip!

The large size is from another liquidity provider that has just started quoting.

paradox - I was thinking that myself! It's just the Yen products that we're not showing commas. Not sure if this was overlooked, or whether there's a lack of space to fit a big figure with commas. Will check.

    MiamiH,
You should still be seeing good size and tight markets today. Here's a snapshot at 0343 EST
