Lobster, I am not so concerned about being unable to go on with trading basicly, while connection is down. Most of all I am concerned about being unable to close open positions and to suffer possible losses in the case of the markets going against me.
saico I have been trading eminis with IB for two months. Globex has gone down twice, once for 15 minutes and once for about an hour (I wasnt there at the time so Im not too sure). Other than that I have not had any problems and executions have been great. There is definitely the possiblilty of a problem, tho. My solution was to set up my datek account for options trading and keep enough of a balance in there to offset my postion with options if it starts to move against me and globex goes down. Hopefully that wont happen.
