I had some NQ positions stuck for about 10 minutes yesterday, due to a Globex problem, according to IB . I covered using a correlated european equity index future, but would have prefered to cover with ND directly... Is there any way for a retail trader to reach someone directly(ie : by phone) in the pit that could cover using ND contracts ? Thanks, OHLC
better if you have a back up system. IB really works like a charm, however, when you get stuck you have to wait about more than 5mn even 10mn to get somebody on the phone.
I had the same problem. was in the market when the pb occured. had a stop order in, but not sure it was valid. I just contacted IB via the chat room on their site... the guy confirmed me the the stop was not in the market and was able to connect to my account ... I canceled the stop and reentered it a. The point is that I got a response quickly. http://interactivebrokers.iinteract.com/support/popup.asp?room=generalquestions
Would be interested to know which European contract you used to offset your american position (DAX? ESTX50?) and what was the ratio you applied between both...
Had the same problem here. I read on another thread that GTC Stop orders currently reside on Globex servers at IB. Don't know if this is true, but that would've solved my problem yesterday, as my stop didn't work.
ditto here. Also quotes seem to be about 5 sec behind on Globex when compared to eSignal. Cost me $100+ to notice that ... argh Someone on IB's site said that Stop Limits are native on Globex. I'm going to try that next time.
