IB Exercise Fees

Discussion in 'Options' started by bungrider, Mar 21, 2002.

  1. I can't seem to find anything on whether or not IB charges a fee to exercise options - anyone know? Also, say I'm short an equities call and I get exercised - do they automatically cover the short stock position with a market buy after exercise?

While I'm here, can someone tell me if it's possible to change the P&L calculation in TWS, so that it reflects the original trade price, and not today's open?

    Thank you.

No exercise fee other than the OCC fee of $1 per contract which will be passed on to clients. If you have enough cash in the account and the stock is shortable, you will end up short the stock. If not, the stock will be liquidated when the market opens.

    P & L settings that are available:
Displays unrealized gains or losses. To modify the P&L calculation used, on the Settings menu click Layout, select a page layout and click Edit. Select P&L in the Market Data Row section, and click Customize. Select either New Position P&L or Daily P&L.
