I am using IE 6.0 I do get the pop up window, try the general room when available and it tries to connect for a few minutes, then session expires, I don't think I want to try anymore I'll call this poor guy in your office
Totally unacceptable- I just got a 3 pip slippage on stop with USD/CAD in a slow market. Get your act together. Somebody needs to check the software to make sure everything is OK.
zftrader, I assume that you aware of how stops are triggered with IDEAL-Pro? Stops are triggered using the bid/ask price, so by definition you will likely receive a fill a "spread" away from the stop price. You should take this into account when you are trading. Lets look an example. Assume you have a sell stop in at 1.1595. To trigger the stop, you need the offer to be at 1.1595 or below. Thus, assuming the spread is 3 pips, the stop will be triggered when the market is 1.1592/95. When your stop is triggered, it becomes a market order to sell. This will thus execute against the bid price, i.e. 1.1592. Thus, although the fill is 3 points away from the stop price, you have actually not received any slippage.
I've gotta say: I get good fills. I get great responsiveness. I use IB Chat (but my browser is set up to let it work properly). and its all good. Its not easy to master all the things you need to do to get trading/working with your broker working ... but IB are good and respond to the requests here to make things better. Kiwi
Thanks Steve, I looked at the time and sales and that is what happened. It was more obvious when I calmed down.
I lost 40 cent+ on an ETF order after FOMC using SMART, it was an odd lot. 40 cent during the time I sent the order and I liquidated the position. Does IB SMART handle odd lot as well? doesn't seem like it! at least it should have executed the order partially marketable limit order, market order nothing did it, had to reroute to an ECN SMART is f*cked not long ago I had the same problem with a stock, no execution at market , had to reroute. I am not eventalking abouyt after hours orders, SMART sends to the wrong exchange, have to find out where is the stock offered and reroute TWS is using more and more resources pretty soon I will have to trash that 512 MB machine
this is to IB developers and their managers: I could care less about new features I am not going to use anyway, in the meantime TWS is becoming LESS reliable, how is that an improvement !? But you idiots never listen , you are not going to repay customers losses when their order don't trigger because this or that in settings was not activated or because SMART quotes and routing are unreliable
How about instead of calling us idiots you PM me your account#, symbol and time-of-day of the problematic order so that I can check what happened? thanks
