I have also experienced disconnects every day for the last few days. If this keeps up its going to be a problem . Low commissions are great but that wont make up for this thing going down on me and not beginning able to get out of a trade. I do have an account at MB trading for backup .
"I wonder, did you get a CONFIRM (red) of the cancel?" no,it went from green to grey but the order never left the screen.i was worried so i watched it for about 10 min in case it would fill.after 10 min i got no fill so i figured it must be stuck order on my end.after an hour i finally hear my trade filled sound.needless to say i was supprised. i wouldnt mind if it had filled later at the prevailing price but i got the open price an hour late which was .45 higher than the market at the time.
one thing which might help, next time (hey I don't wish one!) close TWS and start it again. Today that's only how it showed me orders executed or really cancelled. Actually, I was pretty mad waiting, like you, for something to happen with my orders and wondering how all this would end up (have to call IB to get order audit ? what execution would be confirmed or not ? etc..) Finally, I thought maybe I could just close the software and start it again. Because part of the power up, will check order executions and get the ACTUAL state of your account. It worked perfectly and my heart started pumping again. Any broker has problems at one point or another. IB knows better and will fix this as soon as possible. tntneo
yes will try that next time.but kind of busy when market opens.dont get me wrong all things considered ib has a great product and overall im satisfied in the 2 years ive been useing it. im mainly just warning people that if you cancel an order and it doesnt compleatly leave the workstation you have to assume its live.

Yes, I got disconnected, and can't log in (around 11 am). The same thing happened to me yesterday, around 4 pm.... IB is quite bad recently, not only the connection issues, but also the quotes, trade executions, customer service... I hope they fix it soon, otherwise they will lose many customers.
IB has been on and off since 10:15 what is this joke? it's time they get their act together. Just when they said their internet connection problem was resolved it's down again just when we have breaking news . This is unacceptable.
IB is down this morning. I've been logged off and on and now I can't get back in. There have been intermittent problems for several weeks now. If Def is reading this board let it be known that I left Datek 6 months ago for this same reason and I will take my business elsewhere. There is far too much at risk here.
