IB Downtime

Yeah, started to fizz out at about 8:30ish. But I got it back and running by 8:40. Fine now for me. I'm logging in via the browser TWS btw.

 

mine keeps coming in and out, wierd. i am using desktop installed version, ive heard this is better. any opinions...

 

problems intermittently all morning including overnight

lucky for me I do not have much of a position right now

I was told by help desk they are working on fixing problem

 

I'm also having a problem with my RealTick, with charts and level 2 -- a backbone glitch somewhere?

 

do a tracert and see if there's a specific location that has gone bad.

 

Does IB go down often?

I'm looking to switch from datek to ib, but read through all the down times. Is this on all counts, just on stocks, or globex, etc?

or you cant log in at all?

Has it gotten bad because there are too many traders on?

 

It's been pretty good of late - until today. Datek seemed to have problems almost every week

 

Been using IB for a month now, Globex trading goes down perhaps once per day on avg, and usually for about 30 seconds (at the most a minute or 2). Just my experience, using standalone version.

 

Got a msg from Realtick, Worldcom packet loss . . .

 

Ya! datek's become crap, after the merger, very slow, down quite often for the past 3-4 weeks.
