I had 3-4 disconnects so far, the last one lasted for awhile. I restarted JTWS, and now it's back (Location SiliconValley, CA, Pacbell DSL)

  3. Last disconnect lasted 3 attempts. Damnit. It's not my ISP because my other computer on the network is fine. Shit.

When you trade in Europe, you get disconnected more often. The connections are not as stable as in the US. Run the tweak test on www.dslreports.com (Thanks Puffygums! :) to improve your setup.

  8. Ditch,

are you talking about IB servers reliability or the european ISP's?
My DSL connection has so far proved to be quite reliable and fast. I haven't noticed any problems with quotes.

    K,

I'm talking about ISP's. TWS disconnects automatically if the connection is lost for a certain period, 2 seconds i believe or whatever. if you run that tweak test it will optimize your settings. I was bugged by very frequent disconnects. After tweaking my setup the problem disappeared. So perhaps it might solve your problem as well.

  10. I think today isn't IB's fault. There seems to be some screwiness accessing secure websites today in the Phoenix area, according to Cox cable. I can access some sites but not others. On eSignal the charts and tapes stop occasionally but the Level 2 remains intact.

We're at the mercy of technology today, folks. :(
