  1. Forget it, imagine me getting stuck with 40 contracts in the T-Bonds.No sir UH UH , IB is not for me. Read enough testimonial evidence already,

  2. I will admit this recent connectivity issue

will be a blemish on their fine track record
over the yrs if it continues

I had to call HK 2 times to close out my position

had some minor slippage on the first order
but none on the second as they could
    only use market orders

well my positions from friday and executions tonight to close them out cost me $100 or so but I think I did ok this weekend buying more silver coins on ebay

    :p

i think you right about wed. because from that day i also notice that trades from previous day not been like reset. usually you will not be able to see executions from previous day, but i believe for last couple days they just stay on executions page.

  4. lol, that is IB for ya, love how they just got done telling me how they are not lazy and they work hard for their customers.... yet, if this thread is any indication. I seem to believe that was a lie.

Isn't that a ton of BS.

    Great job IB.

WRONG about Weds. I finally got in and the market data light was red and all the setting etc were wiped out. I pulled up Weds --and the windows rearanged themselves correctly but the market data light was still RED and my quote lines were gone!!! no symbols!!! WTF!!! I am done for the night.

IB, I am expecting a letter posted on your website ---explaine what the hell is going on and what he hell has happened after the fact and what you are doing to rectify things longterm to make sure it does not happen again.

This reminds me of why I junked Tradestation way back when ---they started having the same problems.

For a 19 year old who can't even open an account i'll put alot of weight on your opinion.

For the others, i don't have all the specifics now but from what I understand, there has been a server failure that was supposed to fall over to a backup seamlessly. That hasn't happened and it's being worked on. It was thought to be resolved but it looks like there is more work to be done. Hopefully we'll have a resolution shortly. In the meantime, the HK help desk is available and can close out open positions if needed.

  7. This is why we switched 8 months ago to a seperate data vendor and do not rely on either charts or any other stuff from IB except for other execution.

This was also dad's gripe against all this "server based software" because it is not under your own control.

Become self sufficient as much as possible and do not rely on a single point of failure. ( e.g. eSignal and TradeStation are not that much different )

Once you have done this then it is an easy matter to change brokers, as it sounds now your are F@$&%D !

  8. To me it proves that there is something fundamentally wrong with your acceptance testing procedures.

( and the rate that you are pushing out "upgrades" was already indicative that this was more than likely )
