  2. Same problem here in Sweden, both yesterday and today. My ISP have been working all the time, so it's on the IB side.

Luckily I have had no trades in the market while disconnected, but will stay not take any chances today. For those who have lost money due to disconnects yesterday and today, who have no backup broker, it's a good time to find one. However, if the backup broker is needed often, I'd switch from IB. Not knowing if your orders are working or not while disconnected can make it difficult to offset a position, and thus possibly making things worse.

Hopefully IB will fix this problem this weekend, so we can go back to our jobs - trading - on Monday. Will certainly check for updates on Sunday and Monday.

Uh oh. I checked my autotrade log, and there are a bunch of disconnects logged in now.

It's okay now, but it definitely got me too. :(

no it is not you, several of the traders here have had the same problem. We have had many of our working orders and gtc orders disappear during the day and after market.
I believe that when we receive these interferences and shut downs that some where IB's software holds the invisible pending trades and executes them whenever? being when the stock hits that order possible same day or a week later.

Also it seems to be a normal practice for brokers to have these additional problems of loss connection the day and the day of options expiry.

Sorry to hear about your losss of 600, one of the traders here lost over 2k when this happened previously.

agree, with the additional problem being that you can only exit a positon with IB and not place a working order so you have to wait and hope you can get though when you enter the money or exit at a loss for safety. Puts a new meaning to the word ..risk management.
IB has acknowledged the problem yesterday as it was one of their servers as it only effected some of the traders here in our office.

what we can figure out is why only some of the traders lose their settings and have to spend time replacing in the stocks and options as going back to a previous day/wk for example does not work.
I lost connection four or five times today but it relogged itself in while other traders lost connection and had to reboot and relog in the stocks etc.
one of the traders went from a winning trade of just about 500hunderd dollars to several hundred in the whole by the time he was able to exit.

I suggest most of the traders not trade a few days before and during options expiry.
