Globex products trading through my TT connection but nothing on IB, so it is an IB problem. I'm a big fan of IB but they really let us down with support for the Sunday evening (US time) open. I hardly ever have any problems, but when I do it is usually this time when all the Asian products are opening.
Same here. Seems like more problems lately but they always fix them promptly - that is once I reach someone. Now the chat function is completely "down for maintenance" and no one picking up the phone lines for over an hour. Meanwhile the status page still reads everything is just swimming along normally. It's hard to know you have a problem if you have no ability or interest in speaking to your customers.
Yeah, working through TT and Ecco. The IB ES charts are working, but no trading through the book or quote line.
I hope IB takes note and does something about this. It is always next to impossible to contact them at this time (through chat or phone). One would hope they have an automated process to detect their exchange connectivity and are not relying on their customers to alert them.
This is pathetic. Out everywhere it seems. I finally hung up. Can't just sit on hold all evening. Already missed the trade I was looking for (to close a short and reverse at the hwb long). Oh well. I suppose I'll take it up with them tomorrow.
My stop orders have been triggered and filled fine, they put out a bulletin at 19:35 EST that "CME data is currently unavailable"
Luckily I didn't use IB, someone recommended it to me. I asked why? He said IB trading platform does a lot of things and has a lot of functions and one can trade many many instruments. Instantly I know there is something wrong with IB trading platform: If it has many many functions, it must be slow. If you can trade many instruments, it must be cumbersome. If it has many many fancy buttons and features, it must slow down the speed of trading. In this day and age of trading, speed is everything. You don't want to see your order being filled 2 seconds after others. You don't want to see your order being routed to a "smart" place. And certainly, you don't want to see what OP described: No data show up! But of course, you can always boast: you can trade many many things.
at the very least someone from IB should respond on this thread - as to why they were down and more importantly why they were not reachable by any means - chat or phone???? This is completely unacceptable behavior. IB is not a bucketshop - it is a reputed brokerage house. Having such outages without any means to get in touch with them is very very bad!!! They must take corrective measures and have a few employees in customer service during Sunday globex opening times.
