IB Down again?

Quite a time for the system to go down. Just when the australia market was rising on a weak market and was about to fall.

 

and now the EEI Euronext derivatives market IS DOWN!!!!

 

check downdetector.com spikes in downtime across the board from google to call of duty and of course Akamai

 

It was global issue, nothing to do with IB.

 

Yes! Seems most of the banks here in Australia were also down at the same time.

 

and Euronext Exchange was down after I had an open position.

Sometimes this happens because of maintenance or any server update. Not sure but I guess so.

maintenance, backup .... is done during the nonactive hour.

 

it is not nonsense. It does happen at IB every night. IB loose connection once every 24 hours (any farm, slightly past midnight of farm time). We are in US, and it was typically between 12:10-12:30am window. Markets are open at this time, and we had enough issues with entering and exiting positions (not often but often enough), to make us switch to another broker.

However, the issue of this thread, has nothing to do with it.
