IB does not send out monthly PAPER statement, what if some thing happens to you?

  1. Don't sweat it dude.
Your account will crash to zero before you die.

Otherwise, a spouse can always look at last years tax return for the doc's.

  3. Its up to the end user whom is filing the statements in a safe place whether they come from IB electronically or by snail mail. So can you file things safely in a place where your survivors can find them?:p See that wasn't so hard. Seriously the last time a broker gave me a a statement in snail mail was over 4 years ago. Do you actually trade?

the conclusion is that IB is not for you. find another firm that handles it your way.. just because most firms do it one way does not mean everybody needs to do it that way. this is a continuous issue on this board as individuals are trying to clone IB into being the same as all other firms. you have received enough constructive suggestions to your original question. why do you continue to beat a dead dog?

  5. Too funny. Why not just make them joint accounts that way there is no probate. My piker account, for now whilst I am learning, my wife has full access to so no probate. We own everything joint tenancy. If we both get wiped out then at the moment I have an issue. I need a living will, thanks for reminding me. :p

  6. You could bury it along with Timmay's sanity and credibility, no one knows where the hell those went....Safe and sound...those items will never surface again.

Of course if your in a plane crash and are burnt to a crisp youre fucked but this is a pretty good solution I think. I would spiff the mortician where you are gonne be laid out at with a few Benjamins just to make sure.

  8. Brother, problem solved my man.

Now if we can get Plan B in action just in case of burning to death in a plane crash...hmm, maybe implant nanomachines in your relatives, or dog (s) or a small army of robots with the info programmed. They would need laser cannons though for added defense, as I've heard the IB security key isn't as tough as it should be...you never know these days.

I think I might go get tatted up this weekend man, thanks for that.

    This is certainly entertaining.
    Without being a conspiracy theorist..
What does IB and other brokers do with
    unclaimed accounts ?

I can see how it would be to
    their advantage to not have
    monthly paper statements.

Everybody forgot about taxtime and annual statements from your broker in January. Unless I am mistaken IB still sends this out in mails, correct?

So in the unfortunate case of OP dying around end of January, it might take a whole year until someone gets the mail, but eventually someone gets it...
