IB disconnected many times

I Agree with Blade Runner.
There is a reason why Institutions don't choose IB's TWS.

 

I had disconnections today in London, the first time in recent memory. i am on a cable modem.

 

Many institutions use TWS. Not much for stocks, but
derivatives. I could call some names, but I would violate
non disclosing agmts...

 

I was chatting with another IB user who lives 40 miles away. We each lost our connection simultaneously. As far asd stable connect I use a cable modem that downloads at speeds of 1200+.

 

IB has gone down several times in the past 2 trading days (Friday and Monday). Anyone who is logged onto the chat here at ET knows that it isn't just an isolated individual using a subpar connection.

Let's be honest -- they are having an issue or 2 this month but I still think that they offer decent service, excellent fills, and tthe emini price is awesome. I am still with them if this turns out to be an isolated issue.

I also believe that IB has a large chunk of the Emini volume going across their servers - I guess sometimes success creates operational issues.

was disconnected 2 times today. Chicago suburban area w/Comcast cable modem.

2 disconnects today (short about 2-3 minutes)
cable modem speed 1700+ (Comcast)
Unusual, haven't had a disconnect in months.

 

Same here, kept disconnecting on two differen't accounts on seperate machines, never experienced this before though.

 

data stall then full scale break down.
it is an issue with IB that requires immediate attention.
