for sure, their isp must fugd cause i had trouble even getting their website on. better just stop for the day when its like this.
i'm no talking about today issue, the question was : how many times in year IB is down for more that 10 minutes. i said -zero for 2006 for me,LT701-said too many.
Do any of you guys know if TWS software itself can cause connection problems? After a couple of years with no interruptions the last couple of months I have been getting short disconnects on my dsl and I cannot find the problem. I wouldnt think that software could cause a disconnect but I dont know for sure. My dsl light stays on during these disconnects and bellsouth says that means their end is still up. It is bugging the s**t out of me. I have removed the router and anything else I could think of but it still does it.
Well, it'd be a strange software issue if that were the cause but I doubt it. I've got 2 TWS/accts on 2 different computers. Sometimes 1 goes out for 3-5 seconds and the other keeps chugging along. (one is on cable, the other, dsl). But today, 1 tws went down and the other went down with it a few seconds later. So, it was either an IB issue or maybe some internet backbone problem. (I wasn't logged out of my quote providers). My charts were updating while TWS was down and I restarted it.
I think it was this last summer. I was having a similar problem on two separate computers using a multitude of ISP's (I travel) all over the country. IB's programer, through DAVE, had me send some log files. He would look at them and then reply they couldn't find anything wrong. One time as I was about to send the files, following one of these episodes, I noticed that the logs THEY requested hadn't been updated in over a year. I'm no computer geek but I was pretty sure they were not going to find a problem I'm having now looking at file a year old. I pointed this out and sure enough they had been having me send the wrong files. I sent the correct ones and within a couple of days the problem disappeared.
