the ability to short Canadian stocks is on the agenda. I'm not sure f the time frame but probably sooner rather than later.

assisting customers. you will always see complaints - especially on this forum - however, a great deal of emphasis is being placed on improving the help desk and the information we put on our web site. i think the desk has vastly improved over the past 6 months and it will continue to get better.

  2. I've worked with several discount brokers and none of them come anywhere near the quality, speed and reliablility of Interactive Brokers. The worst I've seen is that for a few seconds maybe once or twice a week I lose my connection to them. I always have a protective stop anyway, but whats the worst that could happen, I could maybe lose $100 because of a lost connection which has never happened yet. If I'd have stayed with any of the old brokers I'd be losing at least $100 a week in higher commissions!

When customers make petty complaints and Interactive Brokers has to waste time and resources to satisfy them it can detract them from work that they're doing for us real customers. Unless they have a legitimate complaint I think we should tell these people to go trade baseball cards or Beanie Babies instead.

Well, I have been a trader for several years and have visited many groups, chats and threads. I do not think that it is fair to discount the many years of the "KNOWN FACT" of the reliability issues" and the countless traders that have had derogatory comments about the reliability of IB.

My comment was to bring to light why I personally have "put off" jumping on board the IB platform. Now this is not to say that IB is inferior. Why would so many traders use them? and many more will use them as they improve upon their weaknesses.

I believe that IB even recommends a back-up brokerage and eludes what to expect from their help desk.

Well I will shut up as not to offend the loyal users of IB. But if you were the CEO of IB what would you be concentrating on?

I'd concentrate on finding customers who can and do read the users manual.
