IB check request ??

  2. Most banks charge for incoming wires. Do you know one that doesn't?

    Incoming Domestic or International Wire (to a personal account): FREE


    Incoming Domestic or International Wire (to a business or other organization): $10


    Outgoing Domestic Wire: $15


    Outgoing International Wire: $30

    IF you accept a check that you suspect is NSF, you can call the bank it is written on and request a "verification of funds" in that account. It's done thousands of times a day by retail outlets. I have saved myself grief over the years by employing this technique.

  4. Thanks for the tip. Would you happen to know if the bank will also tell you whether there is a stop payment on the check?

    Lobster: They may, I have never asked that, but it seems to me that if there was a stop payment, then the answer to the original question would be "no". Either way you'd be ahead of the game.
