With US stock options if I buy a call and then sell the stock they require me to put up all the margin for the short stock plus all the margin for the long call.(I know it is crazy but what else would you expect from American regulators?) If I do this with a Canadian stock and do I have to put up double margin or just the amount needed to own a long put as it should be?
