IB breaks down again this morning!!!

    Welcome to the McDonald's of retail brokers. Low price = Low service level.

    No trading platform is totaly stable, and that is why I recoment that any serious trader have a backup account at another firm.
    If you are looking for a firm where you get excelent customer service without giving up low rates----check us out.

  3. I had no problem this morning. I'm using TWS 897.8, which is the latest standalone version. The beta version is the web-based version. Thanks for testing it out for us. :D

    No problems trading through the whole day with IB - this is just another smear campaign against IB. But I agree with the representative from Global Futures - everyone should have a backup broker.

    I don't know why you all run out and get the next, greatest version becomes available. I am still using 888.3 and it works fine. I know I will have to eventually upgrade it, but until then, why bother and put up with all the headaches? Every new release is nothing but a beta that we traders use to find the bugs. I won't do that and not worth it.
