Can anyone spell out in simple instructions how to place a basket order from Excel? What we did so far was placed the underlying symbol in the left column, the desired exchange, then the description (e.g. QQQQ JAN08 49.0 CALL OPTION). We saved it as a CSV file. We went to the page on TWS for basket orders and requested to load the CSV file we had saved. The system rejected the order that it did not recognize the order (which it described as a whole line of gibberish). What are we doing wrong?
try to do opposite. manually place orders(presubmitted) or active and then save as basket file. then open the file in notepad and compare with what you create in excel. my guess-you miss some required fields. simple instructions are here- http://www.interactivebrokers.com/php/webhelp/Making_Trades/baskets/excelBasket.htm
