I couldn't add any new symbols....then tried logging out and back in. I can't log in now. No error messages, the OK button just greys out and I get nothing. Tried local and web based, nothing. Tried calling IB several times, I got three rings and then a busy signal. Is anyone else having problems?

I can't get back in either - I hope the stop I was trying to place went in. I called several times and got the same thing you did. I then tried the web version and it couldnt log in either. Then the ib website went down - must be getting hammered.

The web site now says "Error 403, Access denied by policy". First time I've seen that one. Like you say, must be getting bombed both on the web and phones. Most of my stops are in, although I was looking to enter a few positions. We'll see how quickly this gets resolved.

With all the events of late, I hope all is OK between here and there.

IB has been flakey for me the last few days - during heavy market action like yesterday's big drops ib quotes stopped while my nextrend quotes were fine. Even today quotes were dead once in awhile on ib while my nextrend quotes were fine.

Jut got through on the phones. They have a message up that says "As of 10:37am, some customers may be having trouble connecting to the system. We are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible."

I wonder how widespread this is.

    Garet,

Did you get in on the web or locally?

On the IB website at 10:58am:

"We are in the process of recovering from a core system malfunction"
