IB API disables TWS UI?

    Louis C: Hello, this is Louis. How may I help you?
    ME: Hi Louis, Are you aware that API connections are causing TWS to freeze?
    Louis C: not at this moment...
    Louis C: are you able to use TWS to login?
    ME: Apparently this started around 7:00 pm est
    ME: I can log in but the minute my API software connects to TWS everything freezes and I can only close TWS through task manager, I am not the only one having the problem. Go to http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1883044#post1883044 and you will see many post with the same problem

    TWS just freezes when Ensign or Quotetracker connects.

    Just reporting that i am experiencing the same problem.

    And i tot it was my charting app or java or TWS.

    Bloody hell, wasted time re-installing them.

    thank goodness for ET, i realised that i am not alone.

    lets keep this post updated with the latest info.

  6. Having the same problem here. TWS freezes after I connect to Ensign. I tried updating TWS (before I checked ET, stupid me), but it couldn't connect. Can't connect to IB website either.

    Taiwan is going to miss me tonight. :-(

  7. Same problem here. Also market depth requests into button trader no longer work. Also just started happening for me today.

    They just opened a ticket for me and asked for my log file, i emailed it because their website seems to be down :)

    I would guess that a new version of TWS is coming out in the next couple of days, there are always problems pre release. They already have a new version of the web based trader, they now need to update the stand alone.

  9. Initially i thought it was due to me upgrading last night. I had tried to downgrade today after entirely deleting my jts directory but it had made no difference - same problem.

  10. I use BookTrader for my order submission interface, so I only need to connect externally for charting.

    Anybody dare to trade using IB's charts?
