IB and Turbo Tax

    Does anyone know why IB does not allow downloads to Turbo Tax or other Software tax packages. They generate schedule D why not allow downloading it

    They don't want to be liable for any mistakes, better to let you pay a third party provider to do it. sucks to do it by hand though if you don't want to spend a lot on software.

    where is the option to generate schedule D? am I missing somthing

    you have to wait for them to redo them, apparently a tax law change. They were available earlier, probably with some mistakes.

    bastards: Due to unforeseen circumstances, your 2007 Schedule D Worksheet may not have been generated. Please check back on or around Friday, February 29th for your Schedule D Worksheet.

    They can at least let people download the transactions to Excel to simpify calculations. I don't see how that would make them any more liable than web based or printed format. If they are targeting professional traders as they claim they need to work on this part. Even brokers like Etrade allow this
