Earlier IB YM = 11903 Tradestation YM 11911 Not a connection or exchange problem. Not a 'fast market' Probably need 2 accounts these days... Too bad. IB should signal 'bad data' at least when the lag gets too wide.
I think most the problems people report are down to the internet and ISPs. ISPs just don't offer the quality of connection needed for serious trading and IB's internet technology doesn't do anything clever to overcome internet unreliability. Hence, I suppose the problem is ultimately an IB problem.
Im thinking with all the IB adverts on CNBC, that since they have gone mass market and can no longer properly manage their retail IT systems for the larger user base they have now.
BINGO They were great when they actually cared about their customers and growing their business. Now that Joe Shmoe who watches CNBC knows about IB, then don't give a rats ass about reliability any longer.
These IB problems have forced me to move to BE much quicker than I'd like, resulting in washes that would have been good trades. No money lost, but what's the point in trading at all?
There was a time that Tradestation's data would be behind IB's d, but not these days.... And Tradestation does not really have a reputation of being fast and reliable.

The problem always seems to be with IB, and yet they always refer to it as 'problem with the exchange', ie, 'market data unavailable due to a technical problem at the exchange', etc. What a load. Not only that, they also are 'eliminating' some of their 'bulletins', for example, they earlier had sent out that Globex was down / intermittent, etc, (for some customers) (hey, apparently we all qualify) and then, they sent out another bulletin, that the 'problem' was 'resolved', (right at the exact highs, coincidentally). Then, the problems apparently reaapeared, but instead of continuing with their 'message cache', they have opted to remove their earlier messages of problems, and problems fixed, etc. I saw and read all the bulletins, and they seem to be 'jacking' these around also. Can you say, 'pull the wool over their eyes'? What I would like to know is, if there are other systems that are and have operated without problems, then that flies in the face of IB's bulletins that the 'problems' are witht he exchange. Anyone working with other sytems that are operating normally? If so, will you list them? IB's systems, it seems, are, (as per their phone message recording) 'All sytems functioning normally', yeah right, more like, 'SNAFU'.
