I'm looking for some guidance on after hours order entry particularly stop losses on overnight holds. I've found myself holding some Qs overnight and without the stop market loss available (which is fine during the day because of the tiny Q spread) I have to look to the stop limit sell or buy. Suggestions on overnight hold protection (to the extent possible)would be appreciated. I do not feel confident in picking the stop and limit in the thinner trading environment. Thank you. Geo.
I don't believe IB allows stops during afterhours due to lack of liquidity. Thats just one of the risks in holding overnight.
