Well, IB's account statements will never win awards for aesthetics. As long as they get the numbers right, I can live with it, though I often wonder how difficult it is to render statements in PDF files. Recently, however, I have not been able to download monthly statements as I would periodically do. Everytime I "view/download" a statement in MS Word format, I will get a message saying '"statement.doc" is locked for editing by "another user"...." then whatever option I click (open read only or notify) everything just freezes so I have to kill the IE session. IB has acknowledged this issue, but it has been weeks since I first reported it and it is still not working yet. So my question for other IB customers is, what is your preferred format (MS Word, HTML, Excel) of saving a copy of your IB statements? For me, Word Doc has been most convenient, which I can at least change the text fonts so that columns line up. Thanks.
heh, which they don't, btw. if you have made some fractional cent executions during the reporting period, chances are that the numbers won't add up. literally. i've pointed out this to the help desk, but their answer basically was "well, tough luck dude"... (my usual disclaimer: this is not to say that i'm unhappy with IB -- i think they're the best, period! this is just one of their numerous quirks that you'll get used to, eventually). - jaan
We all have a love/hate relationship w/ IB, don't we? So far I have not had incorrect numbers as I always reconcile my record against trade log/statement. Maybe because I mostly swing trade and day trade mini, so fractional cent encounter is not frequent.... tc
