i7-900s vs Xeon processors - identical?

  6. This is awesome! Score is comparable to 980 which is priced at a tousand dollar. If 9178 fits on the same socket that will be great.

  7. Looks like that's a "NO".... the new line of Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs requires socket 1155.

    "Socket 1155"? With both the current Core and new Core CPUs carrying the same series name ( i3/i5/i7), one has to wonder how many CPUs and mobos will be fried by DIYers trying to install a a new socket 1155 CPU on a Socket 1156 mobo and vice versa...
