Why is Alpha Zero then not used by funds who have billions available?

This might be the end of trading as everybody who buys this robot will have the same buy and sell signals. Who will be the counterparty? Maybe a (HFT)robot that analyzes the Alpha Zero's and anticipates on their reaction.

    I don't run GOOGL so I don't know:)

or maybe it's already being used and we just don't know.... in this industry trade secrets are tightly guarded.

  4. A significant number of world class chess players and musicians started learning about their future careers as young as three or four years of age.

The young mind can see patterns very well, learns quickly, and can retain a lot of what they learn for a lifetime. Proper use of options can help with money management and possibly can give one a statistical edge. However, knowing how to actively trade well is key in maximizing one’s overall performance.

I believe if you set your daughter up on a trading simulator and rewarding her as certain milestones are reached she will become proficient fairly quickly. She will probably become proficient at trading much quicker than most adults who eventually became successful because her young mind processes information so much quicker and more readily makes connections to things that many adult don’t. Quality information for her learning goes a long way with this.

There are several challenges to be overcome: Your daughter will not likely to have the attention span/patience for many trading stategies. Her mind is very quick at this age and probably is looking for lots of stimulation. If this idea is valid in this case, then it follows scalping on a very short time frame, perhaps her reading order flow might be the most effective training for her at this point of her life.

As your daughter becomes more proficient at math, reading, and critical thinking, she will have likely developed patience and will be able to focus her attention longer. As far as critical thinking is concerned, there are games and puzzles that can help her with this. Perhaps Chess or Go might be one of those games.

Another key element is not to push your daughter into this too hard. If she gets bored or frustrated, let her do something else. If you try to force her to learn when she is not enjoying it, she will likely end up hating it and will not learn effectively.

It is great you are focused on actively teaching your daughter. Consider creating a trading/play life balance, as your daughter’s playtime with peers will help her develope her social skills as well. I had a friend who’s daughter had a difficult childhood and adolescence because she could not understand why people seemed to be rejecting her. It was because her peers saw her as different with her use of language and interests. This is something to be aware of and addressed properly if this issue comes up as your daughter gets older.

Best wishes to you and your daughter.

  7. this can be an endless discussion however assuming that you have meant that option trading will be completely by AI, but it still zero sum game.
Consider in a room called "domain" where all the market players, in this case 10 AI powered machines start trading. Even though they are superbly capable of outperfoming the humans, then by the zero-sum nature of the trading,
yes i was thinking about that too. when all the players become super fast AI, it is still 0-sum game and one of them has to lose out.

I hope that you will not "manage the fear and excitement" of a 5-year-old, or tell her what to be interested in. A child (and indeed, a healthy adult) should be free to feel her emotions and develop her interests.

My dad wanted me to be interested in his profession, but I wasn't. Although he knew me for 55 years before he died, I'm sure he could not have named a single thing that I'm interested in. He saw me all the time, but he did not see me. Big loss, for both of us.

Exposing a small child to mathematics and related games seems like a great approach.

My stepson and I were very close and I started him reading at age two with his story books, and by three he was reading to me his story books with the sounds of the animals, I was teaching him how I was taught. I tried to get him into kinder garden at age five but Principle said he was took smart for that grade and like me stuck him into first grade. Every chance I had we did homework after school and he would teach me what he was learning and memorizing, and whether it was baseball we played together or names the stars in the sky, I would sneak in something to do with Math. He was only double promoted once in grade school, but I was proud of him just the same. When he got to be junior in high school at fifteen he wanted to learn what I trading, so in spring time we went over patterns but he said he already learned then from me past few years, LOL, so I opened a 5k account and for two months he traded T-bonds, wow, he was very gifted, turned account into 15k by time to go back to school. I asked him if he wanted to do before school, and he said he couldn't wait to quit as it was so boring, he just want to play chess. He said there is no challenge as he couldn't force opponents into bad choices.

We seem to part thereafter, he said he always disliked "having" to learn more about whatever and just wanted to play ball instead of more school. So for 25 years, we spoke very little till few months ago he wrote me got married and asked if I could teach him to trade again, of course I would and told him when he is ready-he has to do demo three times and triple each, and if he short funds, I'd spot him some.

I found it funny that trading broke us apart, and now bring us back together again. And he continues to play chess well, often plays against 40 at a time in one room walking from one board to another. He has thanked me for teaching him chess and how to memorize. I just wished I could have taught him something else.

Remember your daughter is a child, let her have some fun as a child.
