Weekly updates from now on. I have reduced my long term positions significantly so I can focus more on short-term trades. Although I started this thread thinking daytrading doesn't work, my own results are telling me otherwise. Nothing wrong to be flexible and make changes to plan using new information. I will do short-term trades (including daytrades) on the same contracts ES/NQ/ZN/ZF/YG/QM.
12/8/03-12/12/03 Daytrades ES 6 trades 6 winners +14.5 points ZF 1 trades 1 winners +2/32 points ZN 4 trades 2 winners +5/32 points (Stopped out at the high tick of the week! Otherwise, all trades will be winners) It's not a bad week and could have been much better. I am in the process of winding down remaining long term positions.
12/15/03-12/19/03 Daytrades ES 11 trades 7 winners -10 points (blame Saddam) December option trades (QQQ and TLT option trades keep me from feeling bored and overtrading futures) QQQ 13 trades +$207 TLT 14 trades +$471
1/5/03-1/9/04 Daytrades ES 3 trades 2 winners +1.25 points NQ 6 trades 6 winners +18 points ZF 1 trades 1 winners +3/32 points ZN 1 trades 1 winners +3.5/32 points
you had a loser and do you ever take home a loser hoping it will come back for you? or are you only a scalper with a very high win % ratio ?
I will end the thread here. Because of my new work schedule, I wonât be able to trade during work most of the time. As a result, I will stop daytrading stock and bond futures and trade Forex more often. Forex is more active during off hours.
