I suppose Christians live morally sound lives

  1. "that it's not what their Christian church or sect or community holds to be true, and that by implication their church is a more humane and inclusive form of Christianity."

    --------------------
Clearly (to me) this is falsely argumentative.

The process is called 'Straw man" where one says someone says something they didn't and then shoots that down and so (in their mind) the person they are picking the argument with.

  2. "I reject the existence of any immortal and non-earthly beings."

You are just that. You are an immortal non-earthly being. As I stated you are a being whose true nature is love.

On the archway of the oracle of Delphi is inscribed "Know thyself."

  3. 4 types of soil
    ----------------

I have shared many important things, in the thread.

Really they are not for anyone person in particular, but in general to those reading in the background.

In the parable of the sower, there are 4 soils.
The sower does not determine the soil, he simply sows.

(and no the farmer does not 'judge' or 'blame' the soil :) he just sows.)

Let those who have ears to hear, hear.

I don't argue with anything you have said. I stated I thought I was being deceived by "some Christians" who have told me I will not burn forever.

I think you will find that this final judgement of atheists is commonly either denied or brushed over by many Christians. I suspect this is because it is so "Old Testament", it is judgemental, it is vindictive. Also, at least in the UK, Christians are concerned at the falling numbers of Christian worshippers, so they're not really motivated to isssue frankly challenging judgmental teachings.

  6. Thank-you for this post.

    Yes
    Thank-you for this post.

I have also notice these problems and I agree with you.

I suspect you are correct that:
" I suspect this is because it is so "Old Testament", it is judgemental, it is vindictive."
    pushes people away.

    -yes.

As you say many are concerned with "numbers" or stats. The real problem is deep. The hijacking of Jesus's message starting with the orthodox was about power and control and this meant leaving in the Jews bible - which includes a "wrathful" God.

I need to think more deeply on the issue which will take me some time.

(I need to solve several questions, but it takes time and with chronic fatigue I can only accomplish a little each day.)

Thank-you again for highlighting the issue.
