I stumped Ameritrade....

  1. Well, kinda.
    The first thing yer probably thinking is,
    "Why is he at Ameritrade?".
    I dunno.......
    Anyways, I entered the symbol, "SPX"
    for the S&P 500, and it says the symbol is invalid.
    So I put the dollar sign in front of it, "$SPX".
    Same stuff.
    I entered the symbols for other indices, and they work just fine.
    I enter "SPX" at other websites, like CBS Marketwatch....
    no problem.

    So I called Ameritrade this morning, and the guy was stumped,
    totally baffled. He is going to get back to me.
    I entered a symbol for one of the options, "SZPPQ",
    no problem, it just won't recognize "SPX" or "$SPX".:confused:
