You guys are still petting this little puppy with his goals and everything? We already told Rainman that he's a good boy for spending his days on his little treadmill. Can't really pick on him any more, more like a sad little guy grasping at whatever he can to give him some self-esteem I guess. Over to you Rennick c
nah, nothing like that just, as i said in first post or two, just astonished that with no conscious effort to train for specific results, i was able to run mile in 6 or better. that's all nothing more nothing less except that find that remarkable and now i'm jacked to see how far i can push the envelope ps i have no prior history of competing in track
Beyond lifting? LOL. I squat 300, deadlift 360 and bench 265. You? Real men lift thing up and put them down.
Been a few years but i think i could deadlift in the upper 200's maybe 275? An O'bar (45lbs) with 2- 45's on each end plus a quarter plate?yea i could that i'm pretty sure i could do that even now. not sure why you think 300 is such a massive squat? used to bang out 225 for reps of 8 or so. set after set. 225 would not be out of the question for me even now that i haven't touched a weight in years, but NOW not 8 more like 3 or 4 perhaps. you got me on the bench, never my strong suit; and never really liked it either. 205 comes to mind for a couple reps but never tried to max it out. just didn't see the point. Again this was years ago but don't think i'd have any problems with those poundages walking right now right off the street cold.
Yeah, my benching sux too. 300 isnt massive on the squats but its a little over 1.5 my bodyweight was not bad for 6 ass to floor reps. Why'd ya stop lifting in favor of running?
Show me one power lifter that runs a 5 minute mile and I'll show you someone that's hopped up on steroids and crack. This is what a 5 minute miler looks like you joe isuzu jackass.
Thats what a world class athlete looks like, he runs sub 4min miles. He completes a 3K in under 7 1/2 mins. idiot i'm an amateur started running 18 months ago with no prior experience. i'm over 30 i'm incredibly fit esp considering my age. my resting heart rate = 44 (i've measured it lower on occasion) my forte is running hills (incline treadmill 6-15%)
Pretty simple actually i slowly began to realize that a big squat or bench press weren't going to save me from heart disease. Weightlifting is about bulk, getting fatter and less fit. It;s counterproductive to health & longevity. Raises your blood pressure and damages your joints, muscles and cartilage. Leading to chronic disability and meds. Running has just the opposite effect. Improves heart pumping. Expands lung function. Enhances locomotion efficiency. Trims the waistline. i've lost 60lbs since i running. i feel great, much better than when i was hammering away at my muscles and joints throwing weights around. now i've got the stealthy moves of a cheetah
