  1. LANDSTUHL, Germany (AP) - Spirited but hungry, rescued prisoner of war Pfc. Jessica Lynch arrived in Germany for treatment of two broken legs and bullet wounds reportedly suffered in a fierce gun battle she waged against her Iraqi captors.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that the 19-year-old Army supply clerk shot several Iraqi soldiers during the March 23 ambush that resulted in her capture. She kept firing even after she had several gunshot wounds, finally running out of ammunition, the newspaper said, citing unidentified U.S. officials.

"She was fighting to the death," the Post quoted an official as saying. "She did not want to be taken alive."
  2. If true, she is very courageous but not the type action to warrant the Medal of Honor.
  3. she strongly illustrates the difference between a person who deserves to live in america and the scum that protested in San Francisco.

Also, she joined up to get college funding. It didn't make any difference to her, she did her duty.
  4. Our nations highest military award for bravery is the Congressional Medal of Honor. It is was conceived in the early 1860s and first awarded in 1863. It is actually just the Medal of Honor, but because it is presented "in the name of the Congress," common usage adds "Congressional." The rules for who can be awarded the medal are set forth in a public law which in part reads:

"The President may award, and present in the name of Congress, a medal of honor of appropriate design, with ribbons and appurtenances, to a person who, while a member of the [armed forces], distinguished himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty--
  5. She is a 19-year-old Army supply clerk. Get a grip.
  6. What a wonderful idea Optional.

Hand out an award of 'honor' to a participant in an aggressive, illegal attack on a sovereign nation.

I suppose Saudi Arabia should award Mohammed Atta and co then?

  7. concur. she is one tough west virginia chick, the strangest part of the story is she is from palestine, W V. hopefully she gets an agent and parlays this into something.

  8. true, the women in west virginia are tougher than the men in San Francisco.
  9. are there any straight men in s.francisco?
  10. Jessica is one hot bitch, even without the make-up... and she looks even better with the stars 'n stripes in the backdrop... God Bless Jessica...
