Listing trades without position size is NOT the same disclosing his trading performance. If you think my statement is "False" as you claim ... feel free to provide any evidence of Sossy's actual trading performance for any period
"You people" ... classy answer from the Principal of Trading Firm You reckoned Sossnoff discloses his trading performance If so ... where is it disclosed
Right - trend following is dead. Dunn Capital is one of the oldest & most well known trend followers. Trend following is still doing well, it's just that the space got crowded with noobs fund mgrs jumping into this space.
It looks great be because it is, some funds will do great for a few years but few have ever had long term performance this good. Dunn's trend following YTD is +39.8%.
Why would you assume he's the principal of a trading firm? I don't see ONCE where he mentioned that. Not ONCE.
Eyeballing it, Dunn underperformed since 2008. Now, I don't think that an 11 year bull is a valid measure, as "performance" without recognizing risk is a lottery ticket -- which I would not recommend as a capital management business model. But the "since-the-recession" run makes me wonder about the other money managers' miss-performance: have we adjudged the others too harshly? I don't know the answer to that.
Actually, I can't say how. But I know something of Dunn. Bill is since retired. Just age. His son I believe is running things now. But yes, they are still going. Yes, they are amazing at what they do. Anyone that argues with Dunn's various programs like WMA? Doesn't understand the first thing about performance. Dunn's legacy and the current firm needs studied by ANY serious student of the markets. And I agree completely with comagnums statement ... "Trend following is still doing well, it's just that the space got crowded with noobs fund mgrs jumping into this space." Amen. I'd add that it got crowded with noob fund managers jumping into the space, that don't have the stones that Bill did (if memory serves? I think Bill was once a Marine) ... nor the talent, nor the math ability. In short, people that just saw "up" on a chart, jumped in, without understanding what it takes to be in Asset Management.
