Women will ask me what I do for living and tell them am an importer exporter of commodities seems to pacify them. OMG, families always asking to teach their very bright kids who can't add one plus one, pass.
this! the only ones i ever think of considering are autistic or aspergers kids. i actually had a hobby and had such a kid working with me as salesman. i have to tell this tell, consider he was about 15 and completed high school already but had to wait to graduate with his class at 17, didn't want college because he already had a very successful ebay store with scale trains and other small collectables. evidently there is some big money in small trains. he had moved into war collectables and was a gun show brat traveling around all over the states and wheeling and dealing for his dad since about 8. he could not buy weapons being so young but he would bum parts off other collectors who encouraged his enthusiasm. i had bought congressman charlie wilsons gun collection brought back from afghanistan from a college it had been donated to just after his death. this kid somehow had come across the most valuable parts of the collection that were missing and contacted me to sell them to me. so at 15 he starts hanging out at my place everyday working on putting parts kits together, refurbishing, cataloguing and selling both parts and weapons for me on a commission basis. he did not have a car so between his dad and me we kept the road hot traveling between his place and mine. because he graduated so early he didn't have a chance to take drivers ed and i questioned to myself he was probably better off without a car. but he was determined to get a car so he went to the dealership at 17 and ordered a new pre production dodge hellcat telling them he was 21 and worked for me. he turned 18 a few weeks before the car was scheduled to come in and got his drivers license, i was shocked. he got that car burned thru 2 sets of rear tires in less than the first 30 days of ownership and sold the car to a guy up north on ebay for 10k more than he paid for it. turned right around and bought another hellcat, now he did this with his own money he had made working for me. no one helped him do all this and he had never even had a place of employment other than self employed. plus he had a few hundred thousand's worth of collectable com-bloc weapon parts and accessories that i know of being stored in my warehouse. when he got wind that ford was going to make another ford gt he told me i am getting me one of those. i had no doubts that he would. off to germany at 18 he goes to bulk buy parts and ship back to sell to collect the money for that ford gt. by himself not speaking german he cuts a deal for parts, tours europe ships the stuff back and when he gets back he is off to another gun show and ask me if i wanted to go which i never did unless it was close in dallas. when the day before his scheduled return on a sunday evening i read on his mom's facebook that he had been killed in a car accident not far from the gun show he was attending. with what this young man had accomplished with his slight mental impairment was amazing and i had been introducing him to trading thinking if i could ever get him interested there would be no stopping him. he could zero in on things that interested him and the markets were just starting to make sense to him but the toys were always pulling because that was a tangible you could touch. so there are kids out there very worth giving an opportunity to enter this crazy occupation... remembering jacob today he quit a guy. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/seagoville-tx/jacob-biczo-6846944
