I hit a deer; now what?

I did file a report with the police.

Is there any agency you can call that goes out and looks for deer that were hit? I don't know if the deer is dead, or if it's just out there suffering. I just hate to think that there's an animal that I hit out there bleeding to death, and I can't do anything about it.

I went to the website of the Department of Natural Resources. Is that the place to contact?
